Work
I Quit!
06, 12 12, 18:35
Surprise, surprise.
Today, my resignation is accepted by the Firm.
After almost 6 years, it is now time for departure.
Another page of my life is coming up.
So excited while so worried. Hahaha. True, though.
I cannot read the future like you. Thus, there is always risk…
Though, risk can be great benefit.
Type of the risk this time seems manageable. So I give myself a green light.
I will keep you posted in this page… to see what happens next.
Stay tuned!
Not missing the photo of our Christmas tree for 2012 before too late.
Tree is bigger than past years… not watered enough? Seems to be dying fast than expected.
The ornament is heavy making the branches bent.
Though, this is nice decoration.
Well done, MoonFlower!
(Right, I have done nothing to this!)

Good Work and Good Food!

Hi folks! How's it going?
I have to apologize that my blog, particuarly on English version, has been out of touch.
Only pictures, huh. I know!
It is 100% my fault. My bad.
You know, I usually write and upload the blog update in Japanese in the morning.
It means right before I leave for work.
You know how hectic time that is... in the middle of chaos for sure!
That is why... I procrastinate update in English so much and so often.
Yes, the fault is all mine.
Another boring day at work.
Not much from Bangkok for any update.
Plus, not much seriuos work from any direction.
Good news? Certainly bad? Will see.
Though, part of my self-making efforts for learning...
I visited a large distribution center in the afternoon.
Yeah, logistics operation.
I went through a facility tour with some informative presentation session.
Took me about several hours.
Understanding the operation management and KPIs from the contract, etc.
Very fruitful time for me. Something I wanted to see more in the reality.
Then continued to a little dinner with my friend.
Japanese food tonight.
Very good stuff.
It was my first visit but my friend knew that place well.
Great choice.
I certainly took the note of that restaurant.
I definitely will come back.
Great learning experience and perfectly full stomach.
I cannot complain a bit. hahaha.
Don't you agree?
Without serious project work, I made the day quite productive.
Good for me. Hehehe.
Dragons didn't come to the ticket for Japan Series.
Too bad.
Congrats, Tokyo Giants!

New Office means New Route for Commute
03, 09 12, 18:30
New Commute and New Office
Hello from hot summer Japan!!!
Worse than Bangkok for sure. Higher humidity as well.
Today, first commute to Tokyo Office in the month.
Not only of first time... but first time to new office.
Yes, the firm has bee relocated into brand new building!
Much better location, too!!!
Located in Akasawa area... fancy shopping and dining area.
Lots of corporate offices, too.
Very convenient.
New office facilitated with brand new furniture. Not bad.
There is "down" area with sofa in the center of entire floor.
I haven't got a chance to lay down yet. Hahaha.
Hmm, let me see...
Fancy office with big sofa...
Office located in the center of shopping / dining district.
Meaning...
I do not have to work much.
Rather, I can go out for having fun.
Then... notably, I can spend night if I missed the last train for the day.
Really?
That would be cool.
Saving some money for hotel room.
Who was such smart and generous guy out there for such wonderful courtesy!!!
I am quite thankful.
New office is now located in the brand new building...
Maybe next thing that I should concern...
I should work well to generate good performance so that my employment is to be retained?
Hahaha. Sure hope so!
Dinner was served!

Back to Project...
27, 07 12, 20:32
Hi folks!
Practically 1st day for Season 7.
In the morning, I went to Labor Department for visa-related processing.
Didn't take too long.
By 11am, back in the Project Room.
Several status-checking then. Quickly done.
In the afternoon, long session took place before me.
It was not my direct-involvement event. Peace with me.
Though, I kept questioning about the productivity for process step review like that.
Hahaha. Must be Thai way. Really.
After work, hit the road to Soi 31 tonight. Destination was Italian restaurant.
Called "Pizzeria Bella Napoli."
http://www.timeout.com/bangkok/restaurants-cafes/venue/1%3A25514/pizzeria-bella-napoli
Had fancy Italian dinner with friend working in logistics industry.
Great pizza for sure.
I should come again!
We continued into pub after this restaurant…
Too much drinks? Hahaha, maybe.
When finished, it was about 1am. Good fun!

Season-6-End Celebration!
19, 07 12, 10:10
Yes, it is (almost) over!!!
Season 6 is now coming to an end… happily? Will see. Hahaha.
Anyhow, celebration took place in cafe tonight.
All project members were there for having fun together.
Coffee Beans by Dao - seems very high-end fancy cafe and food.
It surely served Thai food as well.
Well, notably home-made cakes are famous. Hehehe.
Lots of Thai food easily filled our stomach.
Good food for sure.
Some "oldies" joined us afterward. Hahaha.
Two members came to the end of mission, not coming back to Thailand for next season.
Well done, folks!
Cakes are never missed! Hahaha.
Pretty good!
And some surprise…
Great Team!
and more… Hahaha.

Complexity is around
18, 06 12, 18:50
Complexity
Difficulty
Conflict
What else should I describe it all about the project? Hahaha.
Things are getting more confused among people involved.
The nature surrounding is becoming stiff and bitter.
What to do?
How to do it?
The question remains requiring more than one answer.
Probably wisdom and action-taking are more important than logic and theory. Hahaha.
Will see what happens.

Season 5 Finale
15, 06 12, 20:04
Okay… for me not yet… but for others… yes, it was LAST DAY of Season 5.
Tomorrow, majority of team members hit back to Japan.
Project Manager and I have to stay for attending Board Meeting. Darn it.
Season finale took place at Wine Republic.
Very expensive place… I was quite surprised.
Usual destination - Wine Connection is much much reasonable.
Yossy and N'Tity. Having fun?
Bottle starts from 1,000 baht and up.
Good wine for sure.
Onion rings really reminded me of college life.
Khun Seree in the middle.
Fancy place… fancy car found.
McLaren!!! Cool, right? Some rich Thai driving such luxury super car out there!
We went on to Ramen Champions for eating ramen noodles.
After this, had some more drinks. That was it for tonight!
Maybe next time… going into such club? This place is called MUSE.
Seemed to be packed at Friday night. Have you been there?
Anyhow, most of things are over for Season 5.
Let us finish all remaining.

Went early… at 8:30 for work.
Yes, you can call me, Workaholic. Hahaha.
Soon as arrived, serious meeting took place… WITHOUT me.
I was along in the project room!!!
So sad… so lonely. Hahaha.
No… not that serious. It was of other track's meeting. Not my part. Simple is that. Hahaha.

Tai-Nichi Tech of Institute: Last Class
07, 06 12, 20:36
One last class at Thai-Nichi Technology of Institute.
Actually, it is already last class of "Japanese Business Consulting" today.
Yeah, after all those. Hehehe.
Now after my class, lots of familiar faces. Boys and girls!
Aajan Hosoya was the lead of today's class.
He gave me that opportunity to teach those talented Thai students. I had so much fun with them!
Final presentation by team… I had to evaluate per presentation material and presentation itself.
Tough to judge!!!
They were really awesome. No big difference in their efforts. So precious for sure.
Some were so eager to be ready for their own.
Some others were curious of other teams.
After all 6 teams presented, individual wrap-up took place. Includes instructors.
Yeah, I had to say something!
3 things learnt in class and comments about the class.
Those Thai students in this class has:
-good basic (English) skills
-good mental to speak up
-good environment (to learn something new like this class subject)
I just reminded them of those three things as my comment.
Thus, they should be confident to study even harder for future success.
Class shot after class.
In the evening, class dinner took place. Almost all students came. Great!!!
Final score of presentation was revealed during the dinner and prizes were awarded!
Girls' team made 2nd place. Congrats!
Team led by Gap did a good job and secured the 1st place!
Prize was Japanese T-shirt.
Congrats!
After the ceremony, it was a matter of gathering among "friends."
No more "sensei" and students.
It was fun!
Another class shot outside the restaurant.
Some students and we went on after this… to the club.
A little (?) more drinking and crazy dance! Hahaha.
Crazy… but certainly FANTASTIC time with great students.
Thank you, all!!!

New Week with New Headache
05, 06 12, 20:59
Another week starts after extended weekend, folks.
Didn't you get Monday off??? Oh no! You didn't get a memo! Hahaha.
Just kidding. It was secret Bhudda holiday here in Thailand yesterday.
New week begins at 9am as usual.
Spent whole day to prepare things for next day. Yeah tomorrow it is a big day for all team members.
For today, SCM Team, Finance Team, and IT Team carefully reviewed our progress and next action plan.
Everything under control??? Sure hope so.
I have a meeting with IT Director tomorrow and I hope I can come to good grip of the meeting.
Will see how I can handle things. Hahaha.
Wish me luck!
After-work dinner took place between Yasu, Shiro and I.
It was still part of work. Endless discussion.
Are we really workaholic? Hmm, maybe.

Day 1 of Season 5 Coming Along with
28, 05 12, 20:23
Day 1 - back to normal??? Resumed all project work for today…
Everything was flat… NOT SO FAST, folks. Things were not flat at all.
Better look around to seek for best alternative or whatever may be suitable… hahaha.
Project is in the middle of nowhere… it's up to us how to handle and which direction to go to. Hahaha.
Lunch is also back to normal. Cost me only 35 baht. Meaning only about 1 dollar or so.
1 dollar… yes, I mean 1 US DOLLAR. In Japanese yen, it's a matter of 85 yen.
Good saving… good food still, though.
At least I should deserve one good thing everyday! Hahaha.
Plus, I received an email from my immediate boss about the result of performance review recently done.
GOSH… in email???
Good thing was that it was the time I was drinking and eating with team members.
I was quite "numb" to whatever may be from him. Hahaha.
Good way to handle bitter things, right?
It is done deal. It is all about the past. Let's move on… need to move forward.
No alternative… just need to push the current project far as possible.
Wish me luck.

Lecture at University in Bangkok
10, 05 12, 20:59
It was definitely fun experience to me.
I came to be lecturer of class at Thai-Nichi Technology of Institute today.
From 9am to noon for 3 hours… it was my SHOW. Hahaha.
I was quite nervous, though.
Because of previous class - Accounting when students showed much difficulty keeping up with the subject, I was quite concerned whether they could keep up and show some kind of sign for being interested.
My worry didn't need to last as far as today's class went.
Maybe I did a good job. Hahaha.
There were lots of smiles and laughs in the class.
3 hours seemed very quick and short.
Students never lost the intension listening up today. Thank you!!!
I am quite happy with how it went.
So everything went as pretty much planned.
All slides for the class were used as well.
My past weekend for the preparation is well paid off!!!
So I came to a big lunch after class. My reward. Hahaha.
Preparation was quite everything for today's lesson learned.
That's what I conveyed to students about making good presentation.
See my point? Hehehe.

Visit to Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology
19, 04 12, 20:25
Hi folks!
Main project in Bangkok will be officially resumed from coming Monday.
Today, I visited the university in Bangkok along with coworkers.
Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology.
Fairly new university founded for educating Japanese way of businesses to Thai youngsters.
Now, our firm opens a class "Japanese Business Consulting."
This is given by Shinzo Abe - Japan's Prime Minister in the past.
Meaning that this institute is well recognized by my country???
31 students are currently enrolling in the class.
Today - 1st session is for orientation, introduction of instructors and team assignment, etc.
Thai students were seemed quite shy. More than Japanese…
I give my presentation for 15 minutes or so.
Including introduction of myself and things I found in Thailand - different from what I know of my country.
All conducted in English. Maybe (surely?) I spoke TOO FAST.
It is my next mission that I speak as slow as possible… tough to do!
Anyhow, my "Presentation / Writing" class is scheduled in 2 weeks.
Until then, I have to develop the content of the class… and create class material… on top of usual project work.
Oh boy…
Wish me luck!

Now University Instructor
16, 04 12, 20:20
What's up, folks!
Now the clock is really ticking… my time to "stay" in Tokyo is limited and actually it's around the corner.
Time for me to say good-bye to friends and family… very soon.
Day after tomorrow, I hit the road back to Bangkok once again.
This time is just like last time. Expected to stay there for 30 days and I will return to Japan in the 2nd half of next month.
Busy schedule, huh? True.
Cannot complain! Am on pay roll. This is important… keep our lives GOING!
I showed up to the office for one meeting. That was somehow not properly scheduled.
Then, I came to find out that it was re-scheduled for tomorrow. Oh boy.
Instead, I had casual meeting with different executive about totally different topic.
You know what? Guess what I found myself into…
In 2 weeks, I have to become a lecturer to Thai university students.
On what? Good question. My class is of "Presentation" or "Public Speech."
Is that my favorite or speciality? Am not quite sure about that.
Though, I am already appointed to. I have no other choice… Like Nike - JUST DO IT.
Hahaha.
Surely, I will do my best!
I can tell lots of things from my experience about giving the presentation in English… I bet that it would somewhat help students who are indeed prospects for business persons.
Only the concern is that I have to do the project and, at the same time, have to prepare the class.
Well, hope that this is well worth it.
Don't you think this is great and yet interesting opportunity?
At least I can add totally new line of totally new thing in my resume. Hahaha.
Wish me luck!

Miscellaneous Thought: Blog, Evernote, and Watch
12, 04 12, 20:39
How's it going, folks?
My vacation week is still going.
I was quite lazy once again and I didn't even go out at all. Not even single step outside the home!!!
Perfect for me.
You know, I am kind of person never mind being home alone, just watching TV or surfing the Net.
If you know me in person, I am sure that you cannot disagree. Hehehe.
I spent quite quality time by myself.
Only regret was that I didn't study Thai language much. Very little.
Anyhow, I spent quite time for organizing this website data.
I still have lots to go to reorganize the data for sure.
Though at least, I keep going… until whenever finishing it all.
Next project note organization.
From the project in Bangkok, I saved up about 70-80 pages of note.
Now time to sort them out.
I usually take notes on the note pad such as "Rhodia" (from France).
I make sure that each page I make a mark for the sequence on the top (otherwise, I may lose the track once detached?)
Then, scan them… into digital data.
After this, quite easy and convenient.
All scanned notes are sorted out in the Evernote.
Dates and name of the meeting, etc. Of course, whom I had meeting with.
Once it's done, no more hassle like bringing many notes with you.
Always instant access to the notes from iPhone, iPad, Mac or Windows.
I can keep all notes indefinitely and no limit of number of notes!
Recommended!
At night, I checked more than several websites for wrist watches.
You know, it is about my crazy hobby… watches.
I found that some brand I usually don't take a look was quite interesting.
It is ZENITH watch.
Reasonably priced… notably, beautiful see-through back (rear).
Gosh… so cool.
Compared to other brand… such as IWC, price against value was quite high.
Some Zenith models are quite reasonable, too.
Hmm, I'd better go to shop to check them out!
Of course for the purchase, I have to discuss it with MoonFlower for her consent.
Yes, I do need that. Otherwise, chaos… you know what I mean.
I like peach more than anything. (BANG!)

Biz Trip to BKK #3 Now Ends...
04, 04 12, 23:42
Finally coming to an end!!!
Now my biz trip to BKK #3 (in this year!) is done!
All scheduled work is completed!
Congrats to myself! Hahaha.
It was long 30 days for sure.
Started with Interview to the President.
Dealing with USD 700 million (revenue) company, it was very interesting to communicate such a fellow.
2 sessions with him must be memorial to my life and big milestone in my career as well.
Followed by numerous interview sessions.
All Executive Vice President of respective business divisions…
and all business unites managers and head of operations…
Long 30 days, huh? Sure thing!
I learned a lot not only about the corporate structure and business model but also-
corporate culture
management issues
Thailand's business practices, etc.
Isn't this a great learning opportunity for me? Yeah, surely it is!
I love it!
So far so good in making progress about this project, which I am quite content about.
Now 2 week "suspension."
Thailand is coming to a New Year holiday in its calendar and, as the client's favor, we have a short break.
Oh, I love this part as well. Hahaha.
Thus, today is last day for me to be in BKK on this trip.
Of course, I will be back here when resuming the work.
To be precise, I will fly back here on 17th. Work resumes on 23rd.
Friends in Japan… see y'all soonest!
Friends in Bangkok, hasta la vista!

Biggest Kick-Off Event Ever...
19, 03 12, 23:11
Not feeling quite well… don't know why.
Ate something bad???
Yesterday, ate only one meal… Japanese.
Not seafood, though.
Hmm.
Don't know what's going on.
Well, I can tell one thing for sure.
Am going to be early! Yeah, right away when get back home tonight.
Major event took place today. Project Kick-Off.
Yeah, today… with 100 people attended!
Really big meeting!!!
I was operating the PC all the time, feeling really awful.
Well, thank God! Everything went well.
Of course, I went to the Thai language school as planned.
Not missing any bit.
Though, I got B on paper test tonight.
Oh boy… better study even harder?
Wait. I should concentrate what I need to do. I should clear my head up and study Thai.
Nothing more.
I committed myself that I will master Thai for 1 year or shorter.
Remember? (asking myself)
Work is fine. This week should be lighter then one last.
However, I do not have any choice missing the work for sure.
I have to contribute as much everyday!
One more picture from past Friday.
Good night view of Bangkok:
Okay, let me go for the day!
